Eureka Medical Institute is committed to train and produce competent graduates who will be leaders in providing safe and compassionate care in response to the nursing, midwifery and health needs of individuals, families, groups and communities in different health care settings.

To produce competent nurse-midwife who contributes to improvement of health outcomes for individuals, families, groups and communities through providing quality, culturally sensitive and evidence-based nursing and midwifery health services.

9. PHILOSOPHY.

The humanistic learning theory will underpin the education and training of students which focuses on the specific human capabilities like creativity, personal growth and choices and believe that people are noble and good. Watson’s theory of caring will be used as the fulcrum of our curriculum which sees nursing as being concerned with promoting health, preventing illness, caring for the sick and restoring health. These will be the basis of our conceptual framework

EMI holds the believe that and attests to WHO definition that “Health “is a state of mental, physical, spiritual and social well-being and not merely the absence of a disease or infirmity and is a fundamental human right for individuals, families and communities.

The client is a bio-psychosocial and spiritual human being interacting with others in the environment and the environment is a setting where the nurses and the client interact to promote the health of individuals, families.

Our institution believes firmly that Nursing is an integral part of health care system which encompasses the promotion of health, prevention of illness and care of the physically and mentally ill, people with different abilities and the dying of all ages in all health care and community settings regardless of colour, sex. Race, creed and social standing, nurses perform independent, dependent and interdependent functions as members of a health care system.
